Hope Wellness Center's Treatment Facility is a small
outpatient center located in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico, a few
miles across the Texas/Mexico border from Del Rio, Texas.
Previously known as Hope
Clinics International, the name was changed to Hope
Wellness Center to accurately describe Hope's mission to
improve people's health...
Body...
Soul...
and Spirit!
Hope was established in 1995 by
Dr. Elio Martin Rivera Celaya, M.D.
and
Steven Hines, N.D., N.E.
Dr. Rivera is a conventionally trained
medical physician with more than 25 years of clinical
experience. During the past 15 years, he has cross-trained
into nutritional medicine. Dr. Rivera received his medical
degree from the University of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon,
Mexico; and is certified in chelation, oxygen, nutritional
and magnet therapy. Dr. Rivera is also a pastor and
founder of a non-denominational Christian Fellowship
church in Mexico. He has written several bilingual
Christian books and is an
international speaker. Dr. Rivera has founded several
orphanages in Mexico, one of which is next door to the
center. His compassion for people is evident throughout
his medical practice and ministry.
Steve Hines is a naturopathic doctor,
naturopathic endocrinologist, and master herbalist. He
has been practicing naturopathy for 15 years, and is
currently writing on a book, Gastrointestinal Diseases and
co-authored "The Road to Health".
Steve has more than 12,000 hours of training in
nutritional biochemistry, anatomy, and physiology. His
deductive reasoning skills prove invaluable to his
patients.
Steve is an accomplished musician, and a humanitarian.
Hope has a unique approach to clinical medicine.
Each patient is treated according to his or her individual
concerns instead of receiving “cookie cutter” treatment
for a particular ailment. Conventional medicine has given
up on most of our patients, but the word “incurable” does
not daunt us. We are not discouraged when some say, “No
one has ever gotten well from this disease.” Our patients
routinely recover from life-threatening or supposedly
incurable diseases.
Many people do not realize that diseases considered
incurable in one country are often successfully treated in
another. For example, Chinese doctors use intravenous
garlic extract to successfully treat viral meningitis.
German, Russian, and Cuban doctors use intravenous ozone
to kill viruses of all types. In England,
homeopathic medicine is used in lieu of vaccinations, and
is also used to treat psychological disorders. In Asia,
acupuncture is sometimes used as the sole anesthetic
during surgery. Having a global medical perspective is
critical for those seeking the very best chance of
recovering from a particular ailment. We adhere to
that global perspective in the treatment of our patients
at Hope.
Hope has no allegiance to any drug company,
machine, or latest gadget. We keep an open mind – but also
a scientific filter – to find the best treatments possible
for our patients. Most patients can tell us their exact
problem as we listen to them with a trained scientific
ear. Statements like, “My headache started right after I
got some dental work done,” or “Ever since I started on
that high blood pressure medicine, I just can’t sleep,”
are key truths we use to determine the root of the
problem.
Our core values at Hope Wellness Center are listening to
our patients, diligently searching for the latest research
on all ailments, and earnestly seeking to find and cure
the root of each patient’s problem.
